Officially named The Republic of Paraguay, Paraguay is a landlocked country, located in South America, Southwest of Brazil. It is a fairly small country, about 150,000 sq. miles, and has a population of about 6.5 million. Its climate ranges from subtropical to temperate. Since the country is landlocked, the only bodies of water you will find are rivers. The Río Paraguay and Río Paraná are the two main rivers that define most of the country's borders. They people of Paraguay speak two languages, Spanish, and Guarani, and their currency is also named Guarani. Paraguay's terrain is mostly grassy plains and wooded hills east of Rio Paraguay, the areas near the rivers are mostly low, marshy plains, and dry forest and thorny scrub in other places. And Paraguay major industries include agriculture, edible oils, garments, organic sugar,meat, and steel.
